Plant Trimming Before Packing:
All plants are grown outdoors under 70% Shade Cloth in the elements - Uncontrolled Environment. Therefore, old, damaged or blemished leaves will be trimmed off before packing. This does not affect the health or the future growth of the plant. Mindful, nothing in nature is perfect. If a Flower Stem, Leaflet is too tall for the shipping box, it may need to be trimmed off. I always try to avoid this wherever possible. The common cases are Colocasias, Alocasias and Orchids. Â
How are the Plants Packed?
Plants are shipped in their own pot either in 75mm or 100mm pots. Facial Tissue are placed on the surface of the pot to contain the media, and wrapped in freezer bags taped firmly. The top growth is then wrapped carefully in kraft paper to prevent foliage damage during transit. The plant is then securely fastened inside the box using cable ties and reinforced by heavy-duty packing tape.Â
