Collection: Scindapsus Collection

Scindapsus is a genus of tropical climbing plants in the Araceae family, native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. They're often confused with pothos (Epipremnum), but Scindapsus have distinctive features and are cherished for their velvety, patterned leaves and ease of care.

Growth Habit: Climbing or trailing vine with aerial roots; ideal for hanging baskets or moss poles. Leaves: Typically, heart-shaped, thick, and somewhat leathery or velvety with unique silver, grey, or cream variegation. Light: Bright, indirect light. Can tolerate lower light, but variegation may fade. Water: Let the top inch or two of soil dry out before watering. Avoid soggy soil. Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts to average indoor levels. Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested (contains calcium oxalate).

Added Tips:

Use a well-draining soil mix (e.g., potting mix + perlite + orchid bark); Water less in winter when growth slows; Propagate via stem cuttings in water or moss; Fertilise monthly during growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
